Musical Journey Around the World Part Two

Musical journey around the world

Part two - across the ocean to new sounds

North and South America

The arrival of Europeans on these continents in many ways changed the life of the indigenous people, and the active spread of slavery contributed to the merging and assimilation of not only peoples, but also cultures. Today, among the popular instruments in both Americas, you can meet people from Africa, and indigenous flutes of Indians, and drums, which came along with settlers from the islands, and a classical guitar, and small ukuleles - and the sounds of these instruments gives rise to a kind of America. Popular rhythms on two continents make the legs start dancing - do not deny yourself the pleasure of jumping with the child. If you get tired - refer to the melodic heritage of the mountain Indians, and listen to the music of the ancient mountains, dressed in homemade feather hats.

Staying in America, try to make a short walk in time and tell how the music developed on this continent in the 20th century. You can use small segments from old movies - they will create an indescribable atmosphere, and then try to teach your child a few simple steps or dance with him jazz - he will definitely like it.

Africa

The musical heritage of this continent deserves a separate journey. The ritual dance that can be invented with the child, of course, should be dancing to the beats of the tom-toms and the rhythmic melodies of the cortex. Soothe the blood rushing to the lingering Egyptian melodies or songs of caravans. Africa and its rich musical heritage will repeatedly return to its expanses. It is not without reason that this continent is said to be the cradle of mankind — by arranging a small archaeological expedition, who knows, you may be able to find unique remains — made by the pope — and constitute a whole riddle and, undoubtedly, of tremendous historical value.

Europe

Classical music is largely based on the melodies, which before the advent of composers were transmitted from the musician to the musician. It is necessary to acquaint the child with the already classic instruments at concerts created especially for children. Thus, the child learns not only to recognize the tools by appearance, but also will be able to tell how each of them sounds. The number of plays, songs, etudes accumulated by mankind will not be enough even one trip to the concert hall and many "travels in the musical world" - there are many places where you didn’t have time to go - Tibet with its musical monks, musical performances in China, Greece with to their famous sirtaki, etc. Therefore, do not delay the card too far, because soon it will come in handy again.
